Vendas do iPad podem atingir US$ 1 bilhão em receita já no próximo mês

A Apple está perto de estabelecer um novo recorde com o sucesso das vendas do iPad. Uma análise feita pelo Yankee Group mostra que se o ritmo de compra dos consumidores for mantido nas próximas semanas, com a venda de 1,5 milhão de unidades do tablet, a empresa alcançará US$ 1 bilhão em receita já no mês de junho, uma marca jamais atingida por outro dispositivo. Carl Howe, diretor do grupo "Anywhere Consumer" do Yankee Group, é o autor da análise. "O iPad será o produto de consumo que mais rápido atingiu a marca de US$ 1 bilhão em receita, com menos de 80 dias desde o começo das vendas até a marca histórica", afirmou o pesquisador.

Para chegar à marca histórica, Howe utilizou um preço médio de US$ 645 para o iPad. Ele mesmo lembra que os aparelhos de 16 GB e 64 GB são até o momento os mais populares e que a previsão é apenas um cálculo aproximado.

No entanto, outros fatos reforçam a ''teoria do bilhão'': o iPad atingiu uma marca de 1 milhão de dispositivos vendidos na metade do tempo que o iPhone. Além disso, a Apple ainda não começou a vender os iPads no mercado internacional. Portanto, a probabilidade de atingir a marca histórica em receita com os tablets é alta.

Isso quer dizer que a Apple também terá resultados financeiros igualmente altos? A questão não pode ser simplicada assim. Segundo o analista, a Apple determinou um preço agressivo para o tablet com o intuito de construir um market share no que parece ser uma nova categoria de dispositivos. O alto investimento no desenvolvimento e gastos no lançamento do tablet poderão contrabalancear a conta final dos ganhos da empresa com o novo tablet.
